Another one day project...

We did a one day project at the start of our first term to accompany our "Ghost Stories" Project. (I may post that up at some point) We were all given a book title, and we had to create a new front cover for the book, however we could only use black ink, and it had to be A3 size. I was very apprehensive about this as I haven't done hardly any ink work at all. I decided to keep it simple and concentrate on creating flourishes and swirls and added block text which I added spikes to as my title was a book of voodoo spells.

I then decided to use a container to put my swirls in, so I created a silluette of a medicine bottle.
I think for a days work my outcome was quite successful. The final outcomes aren't anything special but I learnt heaps about using ink and single colour in my designs.

I really enjoyed this project in the end and I feel much more confident in using ink and use it in my project briefs. Shows it pays to be at university after all!
